I wanted to share with you all 3 things I do that keep me motivated and productive. One of the most asked questions I get is how to I stay motivated and consistent with my work as a full time content creator. These tips can really apply to any job or task. Last year was certainly a wake up call for me. I knew I had to work hard and continuously create while in isolation or that I’d sink. It was really a fight or flight mechanism and it pushed me to tap into every aspect of creativity and resourcefulness when it comes to sustaining myself and being able to make a living and pay my bills. 2020 was actually the best year I’ve ever had as far as my business of creating is concerned. I know that if I can make it through that rough time, I can do anything and I’m planning a lot of this year. Here are a few ways I’m starting the year off right.

CREATE A SCHEDULE AND/OR ROUTINE

You may not know this but I’m someone who battles with anxiety. Sometimes it’s so bad I can barely sleep at night and other times its barely perceptible to me but it’s always there. I have found that creating a daily schedule or daily routine has really helped me with my anxiety. It keeps me from spiraling when something unexpected happens or occurs. A lot of my anxiety is centered around things that I can’t control. So having a routine or a schedule helps to take the guess work out of what I have to do for the day and decreases my overall anxiety. I’ve actually been in a really good place for the last 6 months and I attribute that to having a daily routine. If you’d like to see my daily morning routine including what products I use, head over to my YouTube and check out this video. For starters, I make my bed every morning. This is an easy way to start a productive day by completing a simple task that rewards you. Did you know most millionaires make their beds every morning and that you are 207% more likely to become a millionaire if you have a habit of making your bed? Create a routine that will help you met your goals and feel good about yourself at the same time.

PLANNING & PRODUCTIVITY

If you’re not working towards something it’s hard to be consistent and stay motivated. Write down your goals and plan a strategy for accomplishing them. I like writing down my daily tasks and starting with the most difficult and working my way through the list. I have set days for writing blog posts, filming YouTube videos and shooting fashion outfits. I also have set days for posting on my blog and YouTube. Planning those work days has helped me tremendously to stay on top of my work and not feel so overwhelmed with how much I have to do. If you work for yourself it’s really hard to delegate time and I would highly recommend having a weekly schedule for creating content and set days for posting content. This helps you to remain consistent and it helps your audience to check for that content on those days. If you work for someone else the same rules apply, especially if you are working from home. Having a set work schedule will help you be more productive as well as having a dedicated space for working.

SELF CARE, MENTAL HEALTH & PHYSICAL HEALTH

I spent 2020 really tapping into taking care of myself physically and mentally. That time at home alone reflecting on everything happening in the world really changed my perspective on life and how I want to live it. There are little things that I do everyday to make myself happy. They may seen small and trivial to some but to me it’s part of my self care. Every morning, I light a candle. It just makes me happy. I’m a very smell oriented person and I like for my space to smell good. Watering my plants every morning calms me and makes me tap into the nourishing side of myself. I work out 3-4 times a week and although I don’t really like working out, I love what it’s done for my mental space, my physical space and my confidence. When I workout, I’m not thinking about anything but me. My mind is clear and focused and it’s definitely one of the things that has helped to curb my anxiety. The smallest things go a long way so every single day do something that makes you happy and that nourishes your body and your mind.
